1. What Your Price Includes

Roughly 70 percent of any honest Kilimanjaro price goes straight to Tanzania National Parks as entrance, camping, and conservation fees. The rest covers the team and equipment that get you up and down safely. Every price on this page includes:

  • All national park entrance, camping, and conservation fees
  • Professional English-speaking lead guide and assistant guides
  • Full porter team and mountain cook
  • All camping equipment: 4-season tents, sleeping pads, dining tent, toilet tent
  • Three fresh-cooked meals a day plus snacks, with unlimited purified water
  • First aid equipment, pulse oximeter checks, and supplemental oxygen
  • Pre-climb briefing and personal gear check with Nelson
  • Airport transfers and hotel accommodation in Moshi before and after the climb

2. What Is Not Included

International flights, travel insurance (must cover trekking to 6,000 m), your Tanzania visa, personal trekking gear, and tips for the mountain crew. No other extras, no surprise invoices.

3. The Kosovo Camp Upgrade

On 7 to 9 day southern-route climbs, well-acclimatized climbers can upgrade from Barafu Camp to Kosovo Camp (4,870 m), the highest summit base camp on the mountain. Sleeping 220 metres higher shortens summit night by 1 to 2 hours, skips the steep rocky scramble in the dark, and trades the crowds for a quiet camp. The upgrade typically adds $150 to $200 per person for the special permit and extra logistics.

Worth reading: Kosovo Camp vs Barafu Camp, the honest comparison, including who should take the upgrade and who should not.

4. A Word on Cheap Operators

Every licensed operator pays the same park fees, so a quote far below the market can only be built on underpaid porters, inexperienced guides, thin meals, or missing safety equipment. If a price looks too good to be true on Kilimanjaro, it is. Here is how to vet any operator, including us.
